Growing up in Vermont, I always wanted to live in the city.  I couldn’t wait to make my escape, which happened when I went off to college.  It wasn’t until I was in a more urban setting that I really started to appreciate the small-town life I’d grown up with.  I am thankful that my parents chose to raise me in a small town.  I was afforded many opportunities that I would not have had if we’d lived elsewhere.

After a few years of living in and around the suburbs of Philadelphia after college, I am now settled in southern New Jersey.  My abode consists of my husband Mark and our 4 four-legged furry felines; Max & Angel and Carson & Fiona.  Although we don’t have human children, our lives are busy.  I am constantly looking for ways to make our lives easier with short cuts, trying to save money where I can (so I can spend on fun stuff), and even though I like cooking, I don’t like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.  I love to craft and create new things.

In July of 2020, I was diagnosed with rectal cancer.  I am currently receiving chemotherapy after having surgery to remove the infected area.  One of the main reasons I decided to start this blog was when I was diagnosed, I couldn’t find anything that wasn’t a “medical document” that talked about what I could expect. I am using this blog to document my cancer journey, help others who are going through something similar, and to provide help and hope to you.

Just like me, my blog is a work in progress.  If you want to stay in the know of all things Green Mountain Jersey Girl, please make sure you sign up for my email list.  I promise not to spam you with lots of stuff, but if you ever get tired of hearing from me you can always unsubscribe!
